Reiki is an ancient healing technique that helps to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit and stimulates the body to heal itself at any, or all, of these levels. Reiki students can attain different levels of expertise through training and practice, and in this blog post, we’ll explore the three levels of Reiki: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 or Master Level.
You can think of the levels of learning Reiki, like learning to ride a bike. At Level 1, you learn the basics, like how to balance and pedal. You start with the foundation, understanding the history and principles of Reiki, and how to use it for self-treatment. It’s like putting your feet on the pedals and learning to ride on your own.
At Level 2, you go deeper into the Reiki teaching. You learn how to use Reiki symbols to focus the Reiki energy for a specific purpose and heal others in a professional setting i.e. you can charge a fee for your Reiki treatments and call yourself a “Reiki Practitioner”. Additionally in Level 2 you come to understand the power of your intent and that on an energetic level, we are all connected which makes Distance Reiki treatments possible. It’s like riding on a tandem bike, where two people ride together and act as one.
Finally, at the Master Level, Reiki is not what you do, but who you are. You have mastered the art of Reiki and have the ability to teach and share your knowledge with others if you so choose. It’s like becoming a professional cyclist, teaching others how to ride and taking on new challenges to push your abilities even further.
Reiki Master William Lee Rand, founder of the International Center for Reiki Training, says, “The Reiki energy is limitless in what it can do, and as a practitioner moves up in the levels, they learn how to use it in increasingly powerful ways.”
As you use Reiki more and more you become more confident in it’s and your abilities, gaining confidence and faith in the healing power of Reiki. By the time you reach Master level being Reiki is your natural state of being.
Each level of your Reiki training builds on the previous level, helping you to deepen your understanding of Energy, your connection to a higher power and your abilities to heal yourself and others. Like riding a bike, Reiki takes practice and patience, but the benefits are well worth it. Whether you’re just starting your Reiki journey or you’re an experienced practitioner, there’s always more to learn and explore – mostly about yourself!
Ultimately whether you treat or teach others, Reiki is about your own soul’s evolution.
