the book of secrets

The Book Of Secrets by Deepak Chopra (continued)

Continuing on from my last blog post where I shared selected quotes from Deepak Chopra’s book “The Book Of Secrets”, I would now like to share the second half. These are quotes from Secrets #8 to #15.

As I said in the previous blog post, I cannot share everything with you because there is simply too much worth sharing. And extracting a single sentence or paragraph will not do justice to Deepak’s teaching because it will be read out of context. Ironically, some of the writings in the second half of The Book Of Secrets is so profound (and the concepts sometimes difficult to grasp) that I would rather not try to share it with you. Instead I invite you to read the book for yourself.

That being said, here are a selection of quotes  from The Book Of Secrets to whet your appetite.

Quotes from Secrets #8 to #15

  • Every aspect of the self is worthy of love and compassion. (p. 128)

  •  Awareness, like fresh water, is meant to flow, and when it can’t, it turns stagnant. In your inner world, there are countless memories and repressed impulses. You don’t allow these to flow, which is to say to be released;  therfore, they have no choice but to stagnate. Good impulses die for lack of being acted on. Love grows timid and afraid when not expressed. Hatred and anxiety loom larger than life. (p. 132)

  • The shadow in all its forms requires consciousness in the form of light and love, and the only limit to healing is how much of ourselves we are willing to give to the project. (p. 134)

  • Each of us lives in multidimensions. We can choose where to focus our attention, and wherever that focus goes, a new reality opens up. …. When I speak of other dimensions, I’m referring to domains of consciousness. (p. 148)

  • The purpose of death is to imagine yourself into a new form with a new location in space and time. (p. 165)

  • The ego craves continuity; it wants today to feel like an extension of yesterday. (p. 166)

  • The secret of surrender is that you do it inside, without trying to please anyone else. (p. 169)

  • On some intimate level, your existence meshes with the universe, not by chance but by intention. (p. 194)

  • Mindfulness is a state of awareness in which you can be conscious of perfect moments. (p. 197)

  • Past, present, and future are only mental boxes for things we want to keep close or far from us. (p. 198)

  • When the present moment becomes filled with a presence that is all-absorbing, completely at peace, and totally satisfying, you are in the now. (p. 205)

  • But in detachment, you realize that many outcomes could be beneficial to you. You work towards the outcome you believe is right, yet you remain detached enough to shift when your heart tells you that you should. (p. 221)

  • I exist, I am aware, I create. These are the three qualities of essence that permeate the universe. (p. 252)

In conclusion, The Book Of Secrets is a profound book that you will read time and time again and every time you do, it will speak to you in a different way.

“When you are living the truth of one reality, every secret reveals itself without effort or struggle.”  This book  is certainly able to reveal life’s secrets effortlessly and without struggle.
